The Palestine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), represented by its General Manager, Mr. Loay Hawash—in his capacity as a member of the Executive Committee (EXCO) and Vice Chair of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Committee—participated in the 80th Executive Council meeting of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI). This session was held in conjunction with IADI’s 23rd Annual Conference in Tokyo, Japan, and was graciously hosted by the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ).

PDIC’s participation in this prestigious international event underscores its commitment to bolstering confidence in the Palestinian banking sector, promoting financial stability, and strengthening international cooperation with peer institutions. The conference served as a valuable platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, as well as for promoting global best practices in the field of deposit insurance.

During the meetings, IADI members reviewed progress on the Association’s strategic goals and approved EXCO’s 2025 work priorities. Notably, these priorities include the completion of the revised Fundamental Principles for Deposit Insurance and advancing banking sector reform initiatives undertaken by several deposit insurance institutions globally.

At the conclusion of the event, IADI officially welcomed new members, including the Palestine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), thereby enhancing the Association’s global diversity and representation.

PDIC remains committed to continued collaboration with international partners to strengthen deposit guarantee frameworks and promote global financial and banking stability.
