The State of Palestine, represented by Mr. Loay Hawash, General Manager of the Palestine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), has been elected to the Executive Council of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) during the meetings held in November 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal. This marks Palestine’s second consecutive term, with a three-year mandate in accordance with IADI’s governing regulations.The Executive Council serves as the highest decision-making body within IADI and comprises twenty-five members from across the globe, including the Chairperson and two Vice-Chairpersons. IADI is recognized as the international standard-setting body for deposit insurance systems and functions as the primary global platform for deposit insurers to exchange expertise, advance knowledge, and strengthen cross-border cooperation.Palestine, represented by Mr. Hawash, is the only country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to attain this distinguished level of representation in the current cycle. Mr. Hawash also serves as Vice-Chair of the IADI Regional Committee for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), in addition to his membership in several key committees operating under the Executive Council.Mr. Hawash emphasized that this achievement reflects the strong international presence of the Palestine Deposit Insurance Corporation and reinforces Palestine’s standing within global financial and institutional frameworks.
