The Palestine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), represented by its General Manager, Mr. Loay Hawash, participated in the annual meetings of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI), alongside deposit insurance organizations from across the globe. The meetings included the 83rd session of the Executive Meetings and the 24th Annual General Meeting, held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 24 to 28 November 2025.The discussions addressed the key challenges affecting financial stability amid current global conditions, the impact of digital transformation on financial sectors, and the growing importance of regional financial safety-net cooperation. The sessions also explored avenues for strengthening deposit insurance systems and advancing international collaboration in this domain.On the sidelines of the conference, the Regional Committee for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) convened its meeting, with Mr. Hawash participating in his capacity as Vice-Chair of the Committee. The meeting reviewed recent regional developments and examined the work plan and strategic priorities for the MENA region for the year 2026.Mr. Hawash underscored PDIC’s commitment to ongoing international cooperation, the exchange of expertise, and staying informed of global best practices in deposit insurance—emphasizing that these efforts contribute to enhancing the Corporation’s performance and strengthening its readiness to adapt to evolving financial developments.
